The Summer Olympic Games is the most-watched sporting event that takes place every four years. As most are aware, the 2020 Games were forced to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It has been pushed back a year and will now take place from July 23 to August 8 of 2021.

A huge number of sports fans around the United States are expressing interest in betting on this event. Some, unfortunately, are unfamiliar with how to do so. I highly recommend these fans head over to Bovada.

Here’s a Look at the Top Olympic Boxers to Bet On This Summer

Olympic boxing is always exciting. Combat sports fans love to see exciting young prospects have breakthrough performances on the world’s biggest stage. Oftentimes, these successful Olympians end up becoming world champions in the professional game.

As I mentioned earlier, there are some incredible young prospects set to compete in Tokyo this month. Betting fans are now doing their best to come up with perfect bets before the Games even begin. I’ve taken a close look at this year’s Olympic boxers and came up with a list of the ones that may be worth a bet on today.

Without further ado, here’s a quick look at the top-five Olympic boxers to bet on right now.

Keyshawn Davis: +700 (Lightweight)

As a 3-0 professional boxer, there is a huge amount of hype surrounding Keyshawn Davis at the Tokyo Games. Many fellow professionals claim that Davis is the real deal. He is slick defensively and has shown some real power two stoppages in his three pro wins.

There are many fantastic lightweights competing in Tokyo this summer. Keyshawn Davis may be worth a bet to take the gold medal, though. He is very experienced and has trained with elite fighters during his career, including former Olympic silver medalist Shakur Stevenson.

Interestingly, Davis is not the current favorite to win gold in the lightweight division. That title goes to Cuba’s Andy Cruz with odds of +120. Davis is listed as the second favorite, however, I think his odds of +700 could be hugely profitable with sports bettors.

Shakhobidin Zoirov: +175 (Flyweight)

It’s always fun seeing reigning Olympic champions make their return to the Games. Shakhobidin Zoirov won gold at the 2016 Olympic Games and is now the favorite to do the same in Tokyo. He holds odds of +175 to earn the championship in the flyweight division.

There is no denying the talent of the Uzbekistan-born boxer. He has a storied amateur career and is still just 28 years old. He has also gone 3-0 in the professional game with two of those victories coming via knockout.

Zoirov will be competing against a large number of other talented flyweights. He is the favorite by a fairly large margin, however, and for good reason. The odds of +175 won’t necessarily lead to the payout of a lifetime, yet it’s hard to deny that Zoirov is one of the top Olympic boxers to bet on right now.

Pat McCormack: EVEN (Welterweight)

Some feel that Pat McCormack is Great Britain’s best hope to earn a boxing Olympic gold medal this year. He is 26 years old yet has already won several gold medals at major events such as the EU Championships and European Games. He is about as technical as an amateur boxer can come and is the favorite to capture the welterweight championship in Tokyo.

It seems that Pat is entering into the early stages of his fighting prime. The Olympic Games will represent the first major international tournament he has entered into in years. He’s been training hard, though, and has several UK-based professionals singing his praises.

Some may push against this and claim that Russia’s Andrey Zamkovoy is the rightful favorite at welterweight. I just feel that McCormack is destined to win gold for Britain this year. He has even odds to do so, yet that could be a steal before he begins earning wins in the division.

Troy Isley: +2000 (Middleweight)

I couldn’t make a list of the top Olympic boxers to bet on in Tokyo without talking about picking a major underdog. Tory Isley seems to be flying under the radar for Team USA. I’m not entirely sure why, as he is 2-0 as a professional with a huge amount of experience in the amateur leagues.

Isely’s youth may be contributing to his underdog status. He is just 22 years old and hasn’t fought nearly as many times as some of his competitors at middleweight. Legendary promoter Bob Arum clearly sees something in him, as he has been signed to Top Rank since early 2021.

A huge number of elite middleweights are set to compete at the Games this year. That includes Oleksandr Khyzhniak, one of the biggest favorites of any fighter competing in Tokyo. Troy Isley may have a breakthrough performance this summer and with odds of +2000, he could end up earning some bettors a huge amount of cash by taking gold.

Lauren Price: +125 (Middleweight)

Newport-born Lauren Price may take issue with my earlier statement that Pat McCormack is Great Britain’s best hope of winning a boxing gold medal. She is 27 years old and sits as the favorite to win gold in the women’s middleweight division. It’s not hard to see why she is one of the top Olympic boxers to bet on right now.

Price has earned medals in some of the most prestigious amateur boxing tournaments over the years. That includes a gold medal at the 2019 European Games in Belarus. She has incredible footwork that helps her make up for the height disadvantage she walks into the ring against most opponents with.

There are many other world-class middleweights competing in Tokyo this year. That includes the Netherlands’ Nouchka Fontjin. I have high hopes for Lauren Price, however, and feel that her odds of +125 are offering a solid opportunity to cash out.

Boxing is without a doubt one of the most difficult sports that take place at the Summer Olympic Games. Each of the fighters listed above has sacrificed much of their life in order to capture a gold medal at the Games. I expect each of them to find real success for their countries in Tokyo.

Make sure to head over to Bovada today to find a full list of Olympic betting odds. It’s here that you can bet on the possible gold medalists across every single weight class. As the tournaments progress, these odds will change.
